"Language has the power to change lives – this conviction has been with me for many years. As managing partner of Munich-based Hueber Verlag, I lead a third-generation family business built on over 100 years of passion for education and understanding.
With the Hueber Akademie, we have deliberately built on this tradition. Here, we combine our experience with new formats that empower people and open up new opportunities for them, always with one goal in mind: success through language.

In doing so, we focus on two key areas:

First, supporting and developing language teachers. After all, effective teaching requires both motivated, well-trained teachers and appropriate teaching materials.

Our online training courses provide in-depth knowledge and opportunities for exchange, inspiration, and personal development.

We also support people around the world who want to successfully shape their professional future in Germany, through language training, orientation, and intercultural competence. In this way, we open up new opportunities and help bridge the gap between education and the workforce. For me, the joy of languages has always been much more than just a motto. It is the conviction that language connects people, builds bridges, and fosters growth—for individuals as well as for our society.

"For over 30 years, I have been working at the intersection of education and international cooperation. My career path has taken me from language training to intercultural training, then to managing language and professional development programs, and finally to strategic business development in the education sector.
At Hueber Akademie, I am responsible for corporate development and sales, with a particular focus on international recruitment, training, and integration programs. Previously, I spent many years at Carl Duisberg Centren establishing and overseeing international education and skilled worker programs. Among other things, I have been developing skilled worker programs in Mexico since 2018 and have served as President of the Mexican subsidiary CDCMX-Centro de Capacitación Alemán, with its four locations. Our team understands both the challenges posed by the shortage of skilled workers and the expectations of international talent. That is why it is important to us that the process of attracting skilled workers does not end with recruitment, but is accompanied by sustainable integration measures. In our view, language skills, cultural understanding, and personalized support are key factors in ensuring long-term employee retention. We want to attract skilled workers who will stay with us.

I want to use language and professional training to open up career opportunities with an international perspective for people. That is why, as Honorary Consul of the United Mexican States in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, I am committed to promoting economic and cultural exchange between Mexico and Germany."

"I'm a prime example of a career changer in the field of German as a Foreign Language (DaF). Coming from a background in journalism, I worked part-time as a DaF instructor for several years and discovered my talent for teaching. Perhaps it's because I'm a people person who enjoys communicating.

However, I never intended to become a teacher.

From very early on, I incorporated collaborative methods into my teaching and explored neurodidactic approaches. Always with the goal of developing students' self-directed learning skills. All of this is standard practice today – or, in my view, should be in effective teaching.

And then I became a teacher trainer.

After many years as an international speaker, I took responsibility for reorienting Hueber Verlag’s online professional development offerings with an eye toward the future. The result is short, focused formats that provide real added value rather than traditional textbook presentations. These formats now reach up to 50,000 participants per year. "I have always focused on identifying new developments in language pedagogy and translating them into practical professional development programs for teachers. I now hold a management position at Hueber Verlag, where I oversee marketing. I have the great pleasure of working with my colleague Ivana Perovic to coordinate the Hueber Akademie's professional development program."

For over 25 years, I have been working at the intersection of language, education, and service. For 15 of those years, I served as an educational consultant for Hueber Verlag. During this time, together with Dorothée Thommes, I built up and further developed our webinar offerings with great passion and perseverance—always with the goal of creating learning spaces that inspire, encourage, and connect.

People are at the heart of it all.

As a true host, I approach professional development from a human-centered perspective. I am attentive and structured, and I have a keen sense of quality. At the Hueber Akademie, I contribute my expertise in the subject matter and my organizational skills. I make sure our training programs are technically sound and feel cohesive, respectful, and positive for participants.
